Presentation

Welcome to a world where angels exist, where humans are archetypes, where reality is augmented and transfigured...

Welcome to a building in the heart of a teeming metropolis, welcome to the intimacy of five souls that toil and struggle amidst the pain of this world. Where the constant quest to dominate others and the lack of love and hope are unavoidable. They live beside each other but they are alone, by default or by choice. Who can transform them, bring them together, convince them to let their guards down?

One of them is called Tom, he is young, rich, arrogant and doesn't really like to be contradicted. His life consists of numbers, hours, minutes, seconds...

In the apartment across the hall, there is a woman named Marie, a lawyer who has not yet totally given up on living. She grew up in a social family and she feels she should be elsewhere, the state of humanity in the city worries her...

Below, there is Marius, the concierge, who likes feeling needed by others, but since the death of his wife has fought against suicidal thoughts...

And, finally, in the tiny attic apartment, there are two roommates who, despite their young age, have already lost confidence in the world's promises.

Alongside these circus artists, it is the words of the actor that maintain the rhythm and tempo, that orchestrates the stage.

"A dreamlike performance, Chaplinesque and cinematographic, that doesn't hesitate to cross the abyss in order to find laughter and light." les critiques

After graduating from the CNAC national circus center in 2010, Joris Frigerio and Matthieu Renevret created the Les Hommes de Mains company with the goal of using their acrobatic skills to create a dramatic, poetic, humorous, and dreamlike universe...Their shared love of the silent arts is integral to the company's artistic vision. The links between people, questions of domination, desire, duality, fusion, and solidarity are an endless source of inspiration. Another key driver of their creations is the cinema, as well as all forms of body movement.

Although they started performing as a duo, Joris Frigerio and Matthieu Renevret have branched out to bigger projects and have assembled a team of creators, artists, and technicians. This network was vital for their 2019 circus-theatre creation Frontières, which features six artists on the stage and a large technical support team.

The company is now working on cultural and educational outreach projects that bring artistic projects, the circus arts, and artists to a diverse audiences and communities.
