Presentation

A young woman moves away from the real world little by little and enters a mysterious and dreamy forest. Her vine-like body comes near, creeps in, and slides until it melts into the woods. In that moment of solitude she doesn't lock herself up. She takes a step back, and a step up as well. She musters all of her strength and opens the windows wide, those windows that look out onto the elsewhere and the intimate. This show, in a land between dance and circus, owes its power to its simplicity and the authenticity of its gestures. A harmonious and hypnotic grappling between an unusual apparatus and a young woman undergoing a profound metamorphosis.

Director: Fanny Soriano
Performer: Kamma Rosenbeck

“In embracing the intoxicating ballet of a simple tree branch, the dancer succeeds in bringing together two distinct universes into sublime harmony." – Théatrorama

Created in 2005 by Fanny Soriano and Jules Beckman, the multidisciplinary company Libertivore’s singularity lies in its performers’ willingness to take risks, both physical and emotional. This is a task that borrows its aesthetic from the real world and the dream world, from nature and from modernity, all the while subverting paradoxes and contradictions.

After the creation of Libertivore (Jeunes Talents Cirque 2007), the duo set its artists to work for the collective AOC and participated in the creation of the show Autochtone. In 2015, the solo Hêtre was created by Fanny Soriano with Kamma Rosenbeck as the performer. It was followed by Phasmes, a piece for two acrobatic dancers, in keeping with Hêtre. These two short performances are put on either as a diptych or independently. For his part, Jules Beckman performs in several Needcompany pieces. Between two shows and tour dates he works on his upcoming solo project, Pleasure Test.
