Presentation

9.8 is a call to adventure, a quest for origins that explores the confines of our subconscious. Using the rope as a sacred object, the performers create an ode to gravity and its power. Through their relationship with the apparatus, they pose the question of the place of the body when confronted with a force that is beyond them. Using a physical and poetic writing that embraces notions of archetype and ritual, the artists examine the relationship between a guide and a novice. Together, the pair depicts the evolution of matter until it becomes humanity.

Biography

The company Charge Maximale de Rupture (CMR) was born within the CNAC national circus center in 2019 and is composed of the artists Fernando Arévalo, Marica Marinoni, Pablo Peñailillo, Héctor Diaz, and Maël Thierry. They started their journey under the wing of Galapiat Cirque and then flew off in search of their own creative colors and their own ways of approaching the notion of community.
