There is an enormous amount of humor and the glow of gentle madness within this universe created by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin. For this new show, Aurelia Thierrée slips into the skin of a kleptomaniac and pulls back the curtain on her imagination that is tinted with intranquillity and poetry. The multi-faceted artist finds herself manipulated by and under the influence of the objects she steals. Objects that belong to a world that does as it pleases. Accompanied by Jaime Martinez, Aurelia Thierrée guides us towards hallucinatory lands and libertarian territories that combine surrealist humor and a sense of enchantment.

"Make way for the most beautiful show of the month, the year, the decade... And maybe even the century… Rare are the shows where poetry is so bewitching and contagious. A true little gem."
– Igor Hansen-Love, L'Express
In 1970, Victoria Chaplin met the actor and director Jean-Baptiste Thierrée. Together, they dreamed of a different kind of circus and created Le Cirque Bonjour. Later, they moved on, and their work took a more personal approach to the circus arts, with an important place given to phantasmagoria. Bells and Spells, which was launched in 2018, is the third collaboration between Victoria Thierrée Chaplin and her daughter Aurélia Thierrée. As with every show, the one who grew up under her parents' big top is accompanied by the dancer Jaime Martinez.
