For three decades, the work of the American choreographer Merce Cunningham has been an inspiration for Gandini Juggling. As time passed, a question came to mind: what if Cunningham had choreographed a juggling show? It was a question that was as metaphysical as it was practical, and it presented a fresh challenge for this English troupe that had already made a name for itself with its unprecedented mix of dance and juggling genres. LIFE is a work firmly anchored in Cunningham’s creative universe while also forming a vector toward another artistic world.
