"In the fall of 2015, in true humanitarian spirit, I was among those in Sweden who wished to welcome migrants. With each new encounter, a new story, a personal tragedy. There is a great difference between a circus artist who takes risks on her own account and the person who has had to escape his or her homeland to survive, but I do see commonalities: fear, facing the unknown, always having to believe. Seeing Europe close its borders shocks me, when our circus strives to push them back. Can you imagine what the world would be like if no one had ever taken any risks? As for me, I believe our borders are flexible. In the image of our hearts and our brains, which have an innate capacity for expansion." – Tilde Björfors

"Limits is an example of multiple magical talents coming together, where music, acrobatics, graphics, and comedy are fused together to create a performance that is as large as the sky, and where militancy becomes painfully beautiful." – Vestmanlands Läns Tidning

The Cirkus Cirkör was founded in 1995 with the intention of changing the world through contemporary circus. No small ambition! Energetic and inventive, the Swedish company rejuvenates the traditional circus codes. It performs its militant shows all around the world and organizes astonishing circus events, all the while giving circus classes to children and young people. With Cirkör LAB, Cirkus Cirkör artists create their own research and development platforms dealing with international circuses.

The company offers militant shows which it builds around both traditional techniques (trapeze, juggling) and original inventions. These performances seek to weave peace throughout the world (Knitting Peace), cross borders (Borders), or welcome migrants (Limits). With poetic momentum and the intensity of rock music, the Cirkus Cirkör disrupts our routine and displays a constant flow of technical prowess and risk-taking moves.
