Presentation

Möbius is a new creation by Miguel Gigosos Ronda, an unusual juggler bred on the physical sciences, painting, and skateboarding. The show finds its inspiration in the famous strip whose two surfaces merge into one, a mathematical concept that was discovered by August Möbius, who gave the strip his name. The Spanish artist performs mad contortions and establishes new codes for his discipline, always transcending the notion of performance to unlock a certain fragility and to create a language. With a dozen bright pink balls, this voracious character takes us into his "imaginary labyrinth" and manages to dislocate his body from the rules of the physical world. At any moment something can happen. You'd think anything is possible!

“A juggler who defies the laws of dexterity without ever descending into exhibitionism." – Culture 31

Miguel was born in Valladolid, Spain in 1988. Passionate about painting and skateboarding, he went through various occupational obsessions before arriving at the one that he discovered as a physics student and that would determine his path: juggling. A voracious learner, he made his way across the Pyrenees in search of new encounters and novelty. He then immersed himself in the research and development of the object as a tool for expression.

In 2010, he attended the École de Cirque de Lyon for a year before moving on to the Lido in Toulouse for another two years. At the end of this journey, he decided to enter the school's "professional integration year" (an optional third year at the Lido) in order to launch his personal project. Meanwhile, he contacted the great juggler Iris, hoping to follow a program of "Initiation to Juggling for Professional Jugglers". This training earned him a new friend and a new, larger, and finer approach to juggling. Once his training was over, it seemed a clear choice to embark on the Möbius project with Iris.
