Presentation

A circle of leaves, two bodies for a single phasmid, and music that transcends the space. Phasmes invites us on a marvelous journey where dreams and reality intersect. Invited to spy upon this intimacy, the audience is captivated by furtive apparitions: the duet unfolds and contracts, giving birth to abstract and evocative figures, like phasmids or stick bugs with neither head nor tail... Amid a minimalist set, the artists create a movement on the ground that evokes full flight for a flesh-and-soul duet that is a cross between circus and dance. The enormous visual power of their body-to-body performance allows us to glimpse the raw beauty of the world as it is encapsulated by a sensual and physical dance.

Biography

The Compagnie Libertivore was founded in 2005 by Fanny Soriano and Jules Beckman. Together, they created the show Libertivore. After, Fanny Soriano took the company's reins alone and developed shows that mixed circus and dance and were enriched with research into organic matter and the material, malleable, and metamorphic character of the body. She created Ether in 2012 and then a triptych dedicated to nature composed of Hêtre (2015), Phasmes (2017), and Fractales (2019).
