We invite you to enter the “centaurisation workshop” a year before the development phase of the show is complete. This will be a stroll through the stables, a performance of fragments of the dance to come in the wooden pavilion and under the green tent, a conversation with the artists.
For several months, Manolo, the founder of the Théâtre du Centaure, has been working with four black horses to invent a language of bodies, to dance with non-humans, and to express the urgent need for a renewed alliance between humans and nature.
He is accompanied in this research by the choreographer Kaori Ito.

The company was created in 1989 by Manolo.
Manolo and Camille, who are centaur artists and co-directors of the company, are working towards the realisation of a utopian vision: the centaur, a link between human and animal. New artistic forms emerge from this research, forms that are intimate or event-based and exist on borders between artistic disciplines.
Their creations are connected to the theater or the new circus, with links to dance, the visual arts, street arts, or to cinema.
Because it is impossible, because it is a utopia, for us the Centaur is a form of commitment. A commitment that pushes us to invent a theater that does not yet exist, to create different forms, another language.
The years 2021 and 2022 will be known for the birth of two solo creations, NYX with the centauress Camille-Sombre in a show that was written and directed by Fabrice Melquiot and ANIMAL with Manolo and four black horses that was choreographed by Kaori ITO.
