Presentation

There are no time outs in L’Avis bidon, which brings together humor and acrobatic prowess at a madcap pace. With a good dose of irony and derision, four intrepid young performers take the stage by storm. They sing, they fly, they swirl in the air, they call out to each other…as comfortable on land as they are in the sky. And, without seeming to have even touched the equipment, they transform into virtuosos of the teeterboard, the Chinese pole, acrobatics, and knife throwing! With their bodies and words in fusion, they explore the music of Wagner and Noir Désir to evoke human relationships and the world in which they evolve. From the perspective of these twenty-something artist, they provide a lucid account of the bonds that unite them. Here, friendship is presented as a space of solidarity. And it doesn’t matter whether what they’re saying is true or not, or if their opinions are phony or not, the important thing is to have fun together and to marvel at the possibilities that lay before us all.

“Humor and talent come together to bring us impressive results” France 3 Bourgogne

La Compagnie’s adventure started in 2016 during a residency at the Piste d’Azur circus school and at the Vent d’Autan space in Auch. But the desire to create something together fully blossomed while the protagonists were in their final year at the École Nationale de Cirque in Montréal. Since then, the company created its first show, L’Avis bidon, which can be performed outside as well as under big top, and toured in festivals. A first roll of the dice and first hit! The show won four awards—including the Cirque du Soleil award and the bronze medal at the Young Stage Festival (Basel)—and was selected for the 38th Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in 2017 (Paris), where they won the Prix de la Ville de Paris and the Prix du Président de la République as well as the gold medal.

La Compagnie promotes a direct relationship with the audience in order to dive into its own world, where artists are masters of the musical universe, of their bodies, and of the risks they take.
