Presentation

The ruins tell the story of exile, war, climate disaster, and political refugees. They are lines of fragments and allegories of time that mix knowledge and imagination. Ruins become a space of the possible, they are ageless and help make time coherent. Through juxtaposition and contiguity, they incarnate the coexistence of eras. Still smoking, they are the breeding ground for revolt, leading to insurrection, and fostering riots. The sublime ruin restores something of the violence that presided over its origin. The stories become smoke that is immediately dispersed...

This passage through the ruins takes us to our own confines, the place of our fascination for this world that surrounds us and to which we contribute. However, it is not ruins that you will see on the plateau but a site with promise, the promise of human adventures that transcend time, that endure, and that nourish solidarity.

With Les hauts plateaux [The High Plains], these poetic and acrobatic flights become an elegant portrayal of weightlessness.

"In what he aptly describes as ‘a spectacle of trampoline and worlds in suspension’, the director confirms his talent for creating poetic and original environments for circus artists. With unfailing inventiveness and elegance, he portrays a world overturned, a relationship with the world that reinvents itself, and resilience through joy and adaptability. Powerful and moving, this is a show that leaves its mark."

Founded in Lyon in 2001, the Compagnie les Mains les Pieds et la Tête Aussi (MPTA) is dedicated to researching, creating, and promoting the contemporary circus arts.

The company develops original creations, artistic collaborations, and joint projects that are regularly presented in France and abroad. It is entrusted with events and carte blanche commissions because it is closely involved with a vast network of artists working in new and original art forms.

As a creator and performer involved in conception, research, tour management, and artistic consultancy, Mathurin Bolze continually strives to bring together artistic and human affinities in his search for new approaches to movement and performance arts.
