After meeting at Arc-en-Cirque (in Chambéry) in 2003, Laure Sérié and Stéphane Dutournier attended the École Supérieure de Cirque du Lido in Toulouse. Over the next three years, they learned hand-to-hand balancing with Pascal Angelier, as well as acting techniques and contemporary dance. After graduating, they discovered the "Slavic method" at the Kiev School of Circus (Ukraine). In 2008, La Main S’affaire was born with the creation of Versus. That same year, the duo participated in the collective creation In the Food for Love by Food Sound Circus, which went on tour in Italy. They then joined the Cirque Baroque team for an international tour with the Cirque des Gueux.

Versus was selected by the CIRC QUE O distribution network in 2010. In 2012, they began the creation of the street circus show All Right! with the help of Patrick Belland and Nicolas Quetelard. They later refined All Right! thanks to the artistic oversight of Dominique Bettenfeld (Le Bam, La Meute...). At the same time, they created a second show, the dislocated and wobbly Le Sceptre, as part of the La Part des Anges Cie’s show Mesdemoiselles. In 2015, La Main S’affaire grew with the arrival of three new artists, an event that marked the beginning of the adventure En Attendant la Suite…
