As an opening act, a living painting will be presented by students from the elementary school of Ensuès-la-Redonne who participated in circus workshops organized by the association Lézard Penteur. It will be a short performance, but a long number for a circus stage devoid of a big top. A new circus based on the teeterboard, which deconstructs movement as time goes by. Thunderous high jumps, unrestrained acrobatics, unexpected lifts, and wisely orchestrated juggling. One, then others, then one more. It's simple, yet complex. A simple action triggers the whole machine and if one begins, then everything follows, if one stops, then everything stops working. Vertical invasion, horizontal occupation. Up high, in the air and sideways, a leap arises, it is stupendous. It is like an explosion. We lift our eyes. We wait expectantly. And it's back on.
Artistic Creation: Fanny Alvarez, Antoine Guillaume, Karim Messaoudi, Marius Ollagnier, Maxime Reydel
Performances organized with the R.I.R. network program that was piloted by Karwan in the framework of the Saison Régionale Rue & Cirque supported by the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur as the principal partner and the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication (DRAC PACA).
“It is a challenge to try to renew the vision of the circus with a Hungarian teeterboard, an ultratechnical apparatus [...] A hyper-fresh creation crammed with self-mockery, absolutely trendy, with its enjoyable list of prohibitions. Bravo.” – Télérama Sortir
Antoine, Marius, Maxime, Karim and Fanny met at the CNAC in 2008. A quick timeline... 2010: They present a short show at the port of La Rochelle in order to buy materials. 2011: CNAC tour along the roads of France, Morocco, Burkina Faso, and the Ivory Coast... The show âm (22nd graduating class, directed by Stéphane Ricordel) is performed 75 times. A decisive encounter with Samira, who joins in the adventure. 2012: The collective's first tour with the creation Rien N’est Moins Sûr (Mais C’est Une Piste). 2013: Creation of a big-top show, a common dream from the beginning; the team grows. Creation of Quand Quelqu’un Bouge.
2014: The Collectif de la Bascule sets its suitcases down at the big tops of the Seyne-sur-Mer. 2015: Street adaptation of Quand Quelqu’un Bouge, translation of the show into English, German, and Italian. Design and construction of a palc (a big top structure devoid of a canvas). A third show is created, Histoire(s) de Blues, a musical duo with stories and circus. 2016: International tour. July, residency at Alba-la-Romaine, for the creation of Walf with the collectives La Meute and Backlawa. December, co-direction with the Melting Paint collective (traveling art performance) of the Futura project in Brazil.
