Marseille,
City undresses the city. It undresses life as well, so as to play along with the game of the naked heart. It is through the words of others that this show tells its story. Joris Frigerio questions other humans in order to understand himself better and he has followed this approach encounter after encounter, in order to take the world's pulse through the eyes of others: visions, stories, theories... their everyday poetry. He and Matthieu Renevret have imagined bridges between the arts and between beings. Bridges of cement link their acrobatics to testimonies, visual creation to the timber of voices, the circus to dance and to theater, and fiction to reality. A lovely tribute to otherness.

The Compagnie des Hommes de Mains was created in 2009 by Joris Frigerio and Matthieu Renevret upon graduating from the CNAC. Their aim was to put significant technical standards to the service of a poetic and humorous theatrical universe. Their love for the silent world is juxtaposed with contemporary technologies such as video, which is used as a full-scale choreographic challenge. Another key aspect developed by the artists: to go out and meet the other in a spirit of testimony so as to weave a more journalistic world. The company always maintains an artisanal form, a peripheral view, and always remains curious about set design, which at times is turned into acrobatic material.
Joris Frigerio and Matthieu Renevret feed their experiences by continuing to perform in various productions (theater, dance, circus, film). With the Les Hommes de Mains company, they have created several shows: Frais, Fort, Léger, Secouer! (a humorous 40 minute-long acrobatic video production created in 2011), Impact (a performance inspired by film noir that was created in 2012), and Jeux de Mains (a short production that is adaptable to all kinds of conditions made in 2013). City, which is presented at the Biennale, was created in 2016.
