Presentation

In the room, sitting, rocking backward and forward. L'Homme de Hus (Man of Hus) is a game of distances. On the stage, a strange battle is in progress. The images, the rhythms, and the sensations evoke laughter, wide eyes, gaped mouths, astonished breaths... L'Homme de Hus is a risky adventure, as much for the spectator, who produces the poetic tension, as for the man on stage who is relentlessly absurd, caught, flattened, and attacked by all sorts of objects and machines. In L'Homme de Hus, the language that arises is comical, it bursts from the body, it explodes.

“Camille Boitel is one of the 'new clown figures' [...] at the limit where silent film meets social satire and 'grotesque' mimes." – Libération

La Mère Boitel company was created in 2002 at the initiative of Camille Boitel, laureate of the first "Jeunes Talents Cirque" award. This company made the creation of the show L’Homme de Hus possible. Today, it's the association L'Immédiat that supports Camille Boitel's projects. For this long-term adventure, Boitel has developed highly original material, creating a discipline of his own in which body and movement are the primary vectors in a project that is both disruptive and overflowing.
