Presentation

Will life be nothing more than a race against the clock? Or more like a tennis match? For the performance 5 Jours à l'Epreuve du Hasard (5 Days to Challenge Fate), two teams of young circus artists from two schools – the Centre National des Arts du Cirque (Châlons-en-Champagne) and the Piste d’Azur (La Roquette-sur-Siagne) – are plunged into a confrontation. Not against each other, but united together. Against which adversary? Fate. Created by Cahin-Caha with input from the audience, the competition plays out day after day. Without knowing where it will take them, the two teams reach deep into their bodies and souls to give everything they have: their force and their fear, their desire and their delirium. Without forgetting the pleasure of the encounter and the joy of feeling one's heart beat to the rhythm of the team. In short, experiencing the very essence of sports. But when it comes to games of chance, be careful that the dice aren't loaded!

Coach / Director: Gulko (Cahin-Caha)
Featuring: Students from the Centre National des Arts du Cirque circus school (Châlons-en- Champagne) and from the Piste d’Azur circus school (La Roquette-sur-Siagne)

Two of the most renowned circus schools in France have joined forces to present an original circus performance.

The Centre National des Arts du Cirque, an elite school for the circus arts based in Châlons-en-Champagne, uses a teaching technique that puts its students into real-life creative situations. And the Centre Régional des Arts du Cirque PACA – Piste d'Azur, a professional circus training school based in La Roquette-sur-Siagne, focuses on letting its students meet and work with as many professional circus artists as possible. These harmonious approaches to circus education make for an ideal creative partnership and they blossom under the artistic direction of Gulko (Cahin-Caha) who specializes in the creation of group rituals to allow performers to more fully live the artistic moment.
