Faces Nord is a work of theater of balance that has been conceived as a mountain retreat and that fits into a backpack. Inspired by the practice of balancing objects and storytelling, Laurette Gougeon tries to understand the fascination that men and women have for the summits. How to express and transmit this love of altitude? To what extent do our passions lead us to confront hostile environments? We will talk about letting go, letting go altogether. We will talk about risk, emptiness, our inner chasms, accidents, mourning. There will also be talk of absence and loneliness… But, above all, of strength.
Performances organized with the R.I.R. street arts network, which is supported by the Région Sud as its principal partner as well as the DRAC PACA art archive.

After studying visual arts, theater, and stage design at what is now Aix Marseille University, in 2009 Laurette Gougeon returned to her first artistic love: the circus. That same year, she joined the training program at the Piste d'Azur regional training center for circus arts outside of Cannes. She trained in clowning with Emmanuel Sembely, Elise Ouvrier Buffet, and Stephane Filloque, which adds an absurd and burlesque color to most of her creations.
She served as the co-artistic director of the Agonie du Palmier collective until 2018, then took on the role of an artist in the show Befioul. Her discovery of the mountain environment and her desire to develop solo projects led her to create the company La Féroce in 2019. In parallel to the project Faces Nord, she directed the 10th anniversary event for the Ballade Circassienne de Cauterets in the Pyrenees National Park.
