Presentation

Méandres is an encounter between verticality and horizontality, a dialogue between a woman and her conscience... In the distance, a woman seems to float through the crowd. On closer inspection, we discover her sitting on the shoulder of another woman, who places her on a wire and then goes to rest at the foot of the pole, pensive, isolated as if on a deserted island. On the wires that surround her, the body of her imagination starts to move, the encounter takes place... The structure of pole and wires that the bodies move upon becomes a musical instrument: microphones capture the vibrations, the friction, the sliding of the bodies. The sounds are looped and mixed in real-time, facilitating the revelation of this interior and intimate perspective that is the very theme of the performance. This musical work is founded upon listening and the dialogue between the artists and the composer.

Biography

After training at the Annie Fratellini national circus school, Antoine Rigot and Agathe Olivier worked with several circus companies before founding Les Colporteurs in 1996. After designing and building the circus tent of their dreams, they began creating shows and touring them in France and internationally. They hold performances under their big top, at theatres, or in public spaces.
